A Target list is a set of companies or people that match what you describe. You write the description once, RenewSell turns it into criteria, then searches and checks every candidate against them.
This page covers creating a list and starting the first search. What happens to each result is on Criteria and matches.
Describe who you want
- Open Targets and click the box that reads Describe your ideal customer profile....
- Write who you sell to in your own words: the industry, the country or region, the size, and what they buy. For example: "Outdoor furniture importers in Germany with 20 or more employees".
- To get a starting point, click AI ideas, enter your company website and click Generate ideas. RenewSell reads your home page and suggests who to prospect; click one suggestion to put it in the box. If the site cannot be read, the dialog shows Couldn't read that website. Check the URL or try another page. and you can write the description yourself.
- Or click a Recommended strategies chip below the box. It fills the box with that description, which you can edit.
Companies or people
The toggle above the box decides what one row means:
- Companies returns one company per row. The grid has Company, Website, Industry, AI Summary, your enrichment columns, Result, Key contacts and Official Website Contacts.
- People returns one person per row. The grid has Name, Company, Job Title, Website, AI Summary, your enrichment columns, Result and Key contacts.
A People list is for reaching named decision makers directly. A Companies list is for researching accounts first and finding contacts inside them. A list keeps the type it was created with.
Result count
Result count is how many accepted results the list should reach. It is a goal, not a guarantee: the search stops when it gets there or when it cannot find more.
The options are 25, 100, 500 and 1,000. Options above your plan's ceiling show a lock and the plan they need, for example Needs Starter. The size can be raised later without creating a new list.
Output language
Output language is the language of the text RenewSell writes in this list. The control's own hint puts it as: Language of criteria, reasoning and text results written by the agents. That covers the criteria RenewSell drafts for you, the reasoning behind each verdict, the AI Summary and the text values in enrichment columns. It starts as the language of the interface.
It does not change what is searched. A list about German companies still finds German companies, and website titles stay in their original language.
The choices are English, Chinese (Simplified), Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Japanese. The value is stored on the list when you create it and does not change afterwards; to use a different language, create a new list.
Start the search
- Click Start Finding Targets.
- RenewSell creates the list and opens its workspace. The list starts as a draft, so no credits are reserved yet.
- The workspace drafts the criteria from your description. The Criteria card shows Drafting the evaluation criteria... while it works.
- Review the criteria. Edit, add or remove them if you need to.
- Click Start Finding. A quote opens with Current results, New results to find, Estimated credits and Credits per accepted result.
- Confirm to start. Nothing is spent before you confirm.
While the search runs, the header shows Running and a line with the current counts. Rows appear as candidates are evaluated. The search ends when it reaches the result count, when the credit budget is used up, or when the sources are exhausted; the banner then names the reason and offers Continue finding.
NOTE
Closing the workspace or the browser does not stop a running search. Reopen the list from My Lists to see progress.
How long results take
There is no fixed time, and RenewSell does not promise one. A search runs in rounds and evaluates candidates one at a time, so rows appear gradually rather than all at once. Two things set the pace:
- The result count. A 25-result list finishes much sooner than a 1,000-result one.
- How narrow the criteria are. Narrow criteria mean more reading per candidate.
You do not have to watch. Results are kept, and the list ends as Completed or Partial results depending on why it stopped.
After the list exists
- Add enrichment columns to research each row: Enrichment.
- Raise the result count later: Expand and monitor.
- Import more rows or export the list: Import and export.
FAQ
Can I change the description after creating the list? The description becomes the criteria. Edit those instead, or create a new list from a new description.
Does a draft list cost anything? No. Credits are reserved only when you click Start Finding and confirm the quote.
Can one list hold both companies and people? No. Create one list of each type and use them side by side.
