Connect your email
Connect Gmail, Outlook or another mailbox, send and receive from your own address, and reconnect an account that needs attention.
Last updated 2026-10-23
RenewSell sends and receives email through a mailbox you already own. Messages leave from your own address, and the customer's reply comes back to the Agent's inbox on the same connection.
This page explains how to connect a mailbox, what the account can do, how sending limits work, and how to reconnect or disconnect it.
Before you connect
- Open Connect in the navigation; the card is in the Email channels group.
- Email unlocks from the Starter plan. On a plan that does not include it, the card shows the required plan and Upgrade to unlock.
- Every connected mailbox is a separate account. Your plan includes a number of accounts; extra email accounts can be added with a seat pack.
- Connecting reserves the Channel connection fee (per account). The dialog shows the amount before you authorize (500 credits).
Connect a mailbox
- On the Email (SMTP/IMAP) card, click Connect.
- The dialog explains that you will sign in on a secure page in a new tab. Click Authorize.
- In the new tab, sign in to Gmail, Outlook or any other IMAP/SMTP mailbox. RenewSell never sees your mailbox password; the connection stores an opaque handle.
- When the page confirms, come back and click I've finished.
- The dialog confirms the authorization and the account appears with Connected.
If the authorization link expires, close the dialog and start again. Nothing is stored for an abandoned attempt.
What the account does
- Sends outreach messages and replies from your mailbox address.
- Receives the customer's answers and turns them into inbox threads.
- Uses the account you bind in each Agent's sending rules. One account can serve several Agents.
- Adds an unsubscribe link to every email it sends; see Email compliance.
Sending limits
Your mail provider still applies its own rules. RenewSell does not bypass them:
- Gmail, Outlook and other providers limit how many messages a mailbox can send per day and per hour, and may throttle or reject bursts.
- On top of that, RenewSell sends only inside the sending window and under the Per day and Per hour rates you set for the Agent's channel.
- A contact whose address is unsubscribed, complained or bounced is skipped before sending, so nothing goes out to that address.
Accounts, reconnect and disconnect
- Add account connects another mailbox on the same card.
- Rename gives an account a nickname; the nickname is what the Agent editor shows in its account list.
- Reconnect appears when an account is disconnected or needs attention. It re-authorizes the same mailbox, keeps its conversations, and does not charge the connection fee again for the same account in the same month (Channel connection fee (already paid for this account), 0 credits).
- Disconnect asks for confirmation first. The account stops sending and receiving immediately. Agents that use it do not switch to another account, and running plans pause this channel until you reconnect it. Scheduled outreach keeps its data.
Cost and maintenance
- The connection fee is charged once per account and covers the current month.
- Each connected account has a monthly maintenance fee of 500 credits; it renews automatically while the account stays connected, and disconnecting stops the renewal.
- If the monthly fee cannot be charged, the account shows Needs attention and stops sending. Top up your credits and reconnect the account to resume.
FAQ
Can I connect a Gmail or Outlook address? Yes. The authorization page supports Gmail, Outlook and any other IMAP/SMTP mailbox; you sign in on that provider's page.
Why does the account show Needs attention? The stored authorization was rejected, or the monthly maintenance fee could not be charged. Reconnect the account; if it is the fee, add credits first.
Can I add a second mailbox? Yes, if your plan and seat packs allow another email account. The account limit is checked when you connect, and the dialog tells you when it is reached.
Does the Agent use this account automatically? Only the account selected for the email channel in each Agent's sending rules is used. An account that is not bound to an Agent does not send anything.
