Connect LinkedIn
Connect your LinkedIn account, understand the daily limits on invitations and profile reads, and reconnect the account when needed.

Connecting LinkedIn lets an Agent act from your own profile: read a contact's public profile, like a post, send a connection request with a note, and message the contact after the request is accepted.
This page explains the connection flow, the limits that apply per LinkedIn account, and what to do when the account needs attention.
Before you connect
- Open Connect; the LinkedIn card is in the Social channels group.
- LinkedIn unlocks from the Scale plan. Below that, the card shows the required plan and Upgrade to unlock.
- LinkedIn and WhatsApp share the social account slots included in your plan; extra social accounts can be added with a seat pack.
- Connecting reserves the Channel connection fee (per account): 500 credits. A connected social account also has a monthly maintenance fee of 500 credits.
Connect the account
- On the LinkedIn card, click Connect.
- Click Authorize; a secure authorization page opens in a new tab.
- Sign in to the LinkedIn account you want the Agent to use and approve the access. RenewSell asks the platform for permission to read profiles and send messages; nothing is sent until you publish an outreach plan.
- Come back and click I've finished.
The card then shows the account with Connected, together with the Agents that use it.
Limits per LinkedIn account
LinkedIn applies limits to every account, and RenewSell keeps its own caps below them:
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Connection requests | RenewSell sends at most 15 per connected account per day and 80 per 7 days |
| Note on a connection request | At most 200 characters |
| Profile reads | LinkedIn limits how many profiles one account can view per day; RenewSell does not raise that limit |
- If LinkedIn refuses the note on a request (some accounts cannot attach one), the invitation is still sent, without the note.
- When LinkedIn is rate-limiting the account, the step is paused and tried again later instead of failing the contact.
- If the daily or weekly request cap is reached, further invitations wait for the cap to free up.
Profile reads and personal hooks
Reading a contact's recent LinkedIn post to personalize a first message costs profile reads, because it opens the contact's profile and their posts. To keep this small:
- The result is cached for 7 days per contact, so writing to the same contact again does not read the profile again.
- If the sequence has a like step, the post read for the like is reused as the hook.
- Turning off Open with the contact's recent LinkedIn post in Smart Outreach stops all reads for that plan.
See Personalized openings: outreach hooks for how the hook is used in the message.
Free and paid accounts
LinkedIn sets different invitation allowance and features by account type. RenewSell does not ask you to upgrade LinkedIn and does not try to go past the platform's limits. The caps in the table above apply to every account, so a free account simply reaches its own limits sooner, and an invitation that cannot carry a note is sent without it.
Reconnect and disconnect
- Reconnect when the account shows Needs attention or Disconnected. It re-authorizes the same LinkedIn account and keeps the conversations; the connection fee is not charged again for the same account in the same month.
- Disconnect stops the account from sending and receiving immediately. Agents that use it do not switch to another LinkedIn account, and running plans pause this channel. You can reconnect later to resume.
- Rename gives the account a nickname that the Agent editor shows in its account list.
FAQ
Does the Agent post on my LinkedIn profile? No. It reads public profiles, likes a post when the sequence asks for it, sends connection requests and writes messages. It does not publish posts.
Why is the account's invitation failing? The most common reasons are LinkedIn's own daily or weekly invite limit, an invitation that is already pending, or the recipient being unreachable through LinkedIn. RenewSell pauses the step when LinkedIn reports a limit; it does not keep retrying in a loop.
Can several Agents use one LinkedIn account? Yes. The account is selected in each Agent's sending rules, and one account can serve several Agents.
