Connect your WhatsApp account, write contact numbers in the international format RenewSell accepts, and understand the sending pace.

Connecting WhatsApp lets an Agent write to contacts from your own WhatsApp account. Your number stays yours; RenewSell only sends through the connection you authorized.
This page explains the connection flow, the number format a contact needs, and the pace at which WhatsApp messages go out.
Before you connect
- Open Connect; the WhatsApp card is in the Social channels group.
- WhatsApp unlocks from the Scale plan. Below that, the card shows the required plan and Upgrade to unlock.
- LinkedIn and WhatsApp share the social account slots included in your plan.
- Connecting reserves the Channel connection fee (per account): 500 credits. A connected social account also has a monthly maintenance fee of 500 credits.
Connect the account
- On the WhatsApp card, click Connect.
- Click Authorize; a secure authorization page opens in a new tab.
- Follow the page to link your WhatsApp account, and approve the access.
- Come back and click I've finished.
The card then shows the account with Connected. If the authorization link expires, close the dialog and start again.
Which numbers you can reach
WhatsApp addresses are phone numbers in international format. RenewSell accepts:
- A
+, a country code and the number, with 8 to 15 digits in total, for example+8613800138000. - A number without
+only when it already has 12 to 15 digits; RenewSell then adds the+itself.
Spaces, hyphens and parentheses are ignored. Shorter numbers without a country code, such as an 11-digit local mobile number, are ambiguous and are not guessed: the contact is treated as having no WhatsApp address, and WhatsApp steps are skipped for that contact.
A contact needs a phone number saved on the contact record. Numbers that fail this check are not contacted on WhatsApp, and the reason is shown where the contact is evaluated for an outreach plan.
Sending pace
WhatsApp is a chat channel, so messages are spaced out instead of sent in a burst:
- Messages on the same account leave with a random interval, 5 to 15 minutes by default. You can change it per Agent in the channel rates, between 4 and 60 minutes, and a small random delay is added.
- A short first message or a reply is written like a person typing; the Agent keeps WhatsApp messages to a few sentences.
- The same suppression rules as email apply: an opted-out number is skipped before anything is sent.
Reconnect and disconnect
- Reconnect when the account shows Needs attention or Disconnected. It re-authorizes the same account and keeps the conversations; the connection fee is not charged again for the same account in the same month.
- Disconnect stops sending and receiving immediately. Agents that use it do not switch to another account, and running plans pause this channel.
- Rename gives the account a nickname shown in the Agent editor.
FAQ
Can I write to any phone number? Only numbers stored on the contact in international format. RenewSell does not guess a missing country code, so a local number without one will not be used.
Why was a WhatsApp step skipped for a contact? The contact has no phone number, the number failed the format check, or the number is suppressed after an opt-out or a complaint.
Do messages come from my number? Yes. They go out through the WhatsApp account you authorized in the connection step.
