Find contacts

Find decision makers and published company addresses for a Target row, narrow the search by role, and see how shared inboxes such as info@ are handled.

Contacts are the people you write to. RenewSell finds them per company row and stores each one as an editable record: name, title, email, phone, LinkedIn and location.

A company row has two contact columns:

  • Key contacts holds decision makers found through a people database, narrowed by the roles you choose.
  • Official Website Contacts holds the addresses the company publishes on its own site.

Both write editable contacts. They differ in where the people come from.

Find key contacts

  1. Open a Target and click Add Enrichment.
  2. Choose Key contacts on the left.
  3. Adjust Role Scope (below).
  4. Check the cost line, then click Start Enrichment.

Discovery runs in the background, one run per company. The Key contacts column shows progress and then a count; click the count to open the contacts panel.

The button in a contacts panel does the same for that one company: Find key contacts (1 cr).

Contacts are only available for accepted rows. On a candidate that is still being evaluated, the panel says This row is not an accepted company yet. Contacts become available once it is accepted.

Role scope

Role Scope lists the roles the people search asks for. The default set is:

  • CEO
  • Founder
  • CTO
  • VP Sales
  • Head of Growth
  • Procurement Manager

You can remove a role with its X, add your own with the input under the chips, or pick a saved Role template from the dropdown. Reset restores the default set. Save as template stores the current roles under a name you choose, for reuse in this browser.

Roles are sent as job-title keywords. Write them in English or in your customer's language; the field accepts both.

NOTE

The role list narrows the search, it does not filter the results. When a search with role keywords returns nothing, RenewSell repeats it once without them. Whatever comes back is kept, so a company may also show people outside the roles you listed and a shared company address. That is intentional: a reply from any of them is still a reply.

Official Website Contacts has no role scope, because a website publishes contact addresses rather than roles.

What key contacts includes

Each result is stored with the information the people database knows: name, title, email, LinkedIn profile, phone where available, and a location. An email that could not be found is left empty rather than guessed.

Contacts you add by hand with Add contact sit in the same column and can be edited and deleted like found ones.

Shared company inboxes (info@)

Some results are not a person. A shared address such as info@, orders@ or contact@ has no first or last name and no real job title. RenewSell keeps it as a contact but treats it as a company inbox:

  • It is stored without a personal name: the part before @ becomes its label, and its title is unknown.
  • The Agent never greets it by the address. The greeting becomes "Hi team" instead of "Hi info".
  • It never appears as a person's title in a message.

This matters when the same company has both named people and a shared inbox: you can write to the inbox when no named contact exists, and the message still reads naturally. See Template variables for how {{firstName}} resolves for these contacts.

Official website contacts

Official Website Contacts reads the company's own website and keeps the addresses published on it.

  • Only addresses on the company's own domain (or a subdomain) are kept. Addresses from press releases, partners or agencies are dropped.
  • Every address starts as Unverified: publishing an address is not the same as confirming it receives mail. Verify it before a campaign.
  • Phone numbers and the company's LinkedIn page published on the site are attached to the first contact, because they belong to the company rather than to one person.
  • If the site publishes no address, the run finishes with nothing and the column stays empty.

What it costs

ActionCharge
Key contacts1 credit per unique company domain; reserved when the run starts, settled per successful domain
Official Website Contacts1 credit per unique company domain, on the same basis
Adding a contact by handNo credits
Getting one person's email (People list)1 credit per revealed contact; nothing when no address is found

Two rows on the same domain cost one run, not two. The Add Enrichment dialog prices the whole submit before you start: Est. cost, the reason (for example Current reserve is based on 8 unique domains.), and No charge for failed requests.

A run that finishes with no contacts still counts as a completed domain and settles at the estimate. A failed or canceled run is refunded.

Update and re-run contacts

Open the column menu with the arrow in the Key contacts or Official Website Contacts header. All three actions open the Add Enrichment dialog in the matching mode, so the run is priced and confirmed the same way as the first one:

ActionWhat it does
Update MissingOpens the dialog limited to rows that have no contacts yet
Update AllOpens the dialog for every accepted row, including rows that already have contacts
Edit discovery settingsOpens the dialog so you can change the role scope and run again

Contacts you edited by hand are protected by default: a later run only fills empty fields and does not overwrite values you changed. Turning on Overwrite existing data in the dialog replaces stored values instead, so leave it off when you have hand-edited contacts.

People lists

On a People list the row already is the person, so there is nothing to discover. The email arrives through the row's own reveal:

  1. Select the row to open its profile.
  2. Click Get email · 1 credit.
  3. The address and LinkedIn profile appear, and the contact is added to the row's Key contacts column.

The reveal is charged once per person, and only when an address is returned. Asking again for the same person does not charge twice.

FAQ

Why does a company have no contacts? Its website may publish no address and the people database may know nobody there. The row stays empty; run Update Missing later to try again.

Can I edit a contact? Yes. Each row in the contacts panel has edit and delete actions, and your edits survive later discovery runs.

Are contacts shared between Targets? No. Contacts belong to the row of one Target.

Can I add someone who is not in any database? Yes, with Add contact in the contacts panel. It costs no credits.
