Free email verifier: check if an email address is valid
Paste up to 25 email addresses and see which ones are valid, invalid, risky or unknown before you send. Three checks a day need no account; a free account gives you 100 verifications a month.
What the results mean
What each verification status means
- Valid
- The mail server confirmed the mailbox exists and accepts mail. Safe to send.
- Invalid
- The mailbox does not exist, the domain cannot receive mail or the address is malformed. It will bounce, so remove it.
- Risky
- The address may work but cannot be confirmed. Common causes: a catch-all domain, a full mailbox, a role address like info@, or a disposable provider.
- Unknown
- The mail server did not answer in time, so we cannot tell. You are not charged, and trying again later often settles it.
Catch-all domains
What is a catch-all email domain?
A catch-all domain accepts mail for any address at that domain, real or not. A verifier asking whether jane@example.com exists gets "yes" even if no Jane works there, so the honest answer is risky rather than valid.
Catch-all addresses are not bad leads: many real companies run them. Send fewer, more personal emails to them, avoid large blasts, and prefer an address you found on the company's own pages.
Verify while you browse
The RenewSell extension finds emails on any company website and verifies each one in a click.

Email verification questions
Yes. Without an account you can run 3 checks a day. A free account includes 100 verifications a month with no credit card, and results we already checked in the last 30 days are free to look up again.
We check the address syntax, whether the domain can receive mail, and then ask the mail server whether the mailbox exists. We do not send any message to the address.
Risky means the address might work but cannot be confirmed. The usual reason is a catch-all domain that accepts every address. Role addresses (info@, sales@), full mailboxes and disposable providers are also risky.
Up to 25 per request. Paste them separated by new lines, commas or spaces. Duplicates are removed.
Verification results are cached for 30 days and shared across users to keep the tool free, and people who ask to opt out are never returned. See the extension privacy policy for details.
It removes most dead addresses before you send, which protects your sender reputation. No verifier is perfect, so still keep bounce rates low and monitor replies.
